I work at least 50 hours each week. Being stressed is just a normal part of life for me. Thankfully, that’s one less thing to worry about this week. Still, I really want to find a way to just relax and let go of all the tension I feel while I’m at the office. That’s why I’ve decided to start going back to the gym regularly.
Exercise is a vital part of being a healthy person. Physical health is directly related to mental health, and overall well-being. It’s really difficult to motivate myself to get in the car and go to the gym every night. Sometimes I just want to soak in the bathtub or read a good book. These things temporarily relax me, but then it’s back to reality.
When I go to the gym, not only do I feel a sense of release while I’m engaged in various activities, but it lasts for a long time. I feel good physically, like I’m able to purge out all of my stress and tension. I feel good mentally, like I’m at peace with whatever was bothering me earlier in the day. It’s a win-win situation.
Seeing as how I understand the benefits of exercise, I don’t understand why it’s so difficult to get started. I know I’m not alone, and that finding a gym routine is difficult for many people. Sometimes taking that first step is the most difficult part of the entire process. I’ve looked at different websites that have exercise support groups, and I think that might be a good option for me. This way, I’ll have people holding me accountable for my actions, and I’ll feel a sense of pride when I’m able to report back about my success.
